Nilna Technical & Support
Nilna is a private iPhone app for rehearsing the moment you hand a gift over. Legal details live in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Getting started
Open Nilna and tap Enter rehearsal. You do not need to tick the agreement box—it starts unchecked and does not block entry. First entry creates a local login on this device (no email or password) and asks Nilna’s edge Worker for a studio session, drafting configuration, and an optional stage page.
Terms and Privacy open inside the app. On debug builds you may see a staging / production toggle on the login screen; that only changes which Worker environment the studio session uses.
2. Stage page (WebView)
When the Worker returns a stage URL, Nilna pushes a full-screen WebView over the main tabs (with a splash curtain until first paint). That URL may be:
- the fixed Worker welcome theme (
/nilna), or - a configured H5 experience from studio config.
Custom schemes from the page (for example gift://giftfile or gift://enterRehearsal) are handled by the native bridge—close stage, open an in-app page, open an external link, settings, help, and related controls. Closing the stage returns you to the tab bar.
3. Create a Gift File
Use the Create tab or Home → New gift file. Fill four beats: Audience (name required), Gift (gift name required), Lines, then Blocking. Tap Bind the file to generate and save. You can tap a completed rail node to go back.
Relationship options: Family, Friend, Partner, Mentor, Colleague, Neighbor. Price bands and wrapping styles are the fixed lists shown in Create.
4. Draft a line
On the Lines beat, tap Draft a line for me to polish or write one spoken sentence. Bind the file saves the Gift File after a successful result. Drafting uses credentials from Worker studio entry and calls OpenRouter; if generation fails, use Retry on the processing screen. Keep the app open while the stage is being set.
Nilna may show a one-time “AI service and your data” notice before Create. Fields sent for generation: recipient, relationship, occasion, personality notes, gift, and optional draft line.
5. Rehearse
On the Result stage, tap Take the stage to start a timer. Pause saves the duration. If you allow the microphone, Nilna records your opening line and you can Play last take from Result or from the Lines fold in the file. Denying the microphone still lets the timer run.
Share copies a rehearsal card to the clipboard. It does not open a social network.
6. Debrief and archive
Open file → Debrief: write a few words, pick 1–5 stars, tap Log the applause. History can filter All, Awaiting debut, and Debriefed. Seal it wax-seals a file into Archive. Delete cannot be undone.
7. Profile and account
Studio lets you edit a 2–20 character name and a photo (camera or library). Settings is a local HTML page: Privacy, Terms, Log out, Delete account.
- Log out — clears local login and the Worker studio cache; Gift Files stay.
- Delete account — wipes Gift Files, recordings, debriefs, and profile on this device; keeps only the “has logged in before” flag.
8. Permissions
- Camera / Photos — optional Studio picture.
- Microphone — optional rehearsal take.
Core preparation still works if you decline. Gift-day marks on Home are in-app toasts only; Nilna does not send system notifications.
9. Network services (for support)
- Worker studio entry:
POST /v1/studio/entry - Opening-line generation: OpenRouter chat completions (URL / models / bearer from entry)
- Legal pages (in-app): Terms and Privacy URLs configured for Nilna
